Geraldine Zimmerman

December 16, 1925 - August 23, 2002
In Memorial

Geraldine Zimmerman, 76, a resident of 125 Elliott Ave. Plymouth , died at her home following a cancer related illness, at 3:35 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2002 , in the care of her family and the Marshall County Hospice. Born in Bourbon on December 16, 1925 , she was a twin daughter of Charles H. and Della Mae Whittemore Amones. She attended the Inwood school, Tyner and graduated from Plymouth ’s Lincoln High School in the Class of 1944.
On September 17, 1950 in Plymouth , she married Robert D. “Bob” Zimmerman, who survives. They were winter residents to Avon Park , Florida for 22 years.
Geraldine had worked for Meck Industries of Plymouth, from 1944 – 1957. She was a homemaker who along with her husband took great care of their property and landscaping. Together they enjoyed the annual hunt for mushrooms in the State of Michigan for over 20 years.
She attended the Faith Baptist Church of Plymouth and an active member of the R4U Seb Deb Club.
Survivors include her husband Bob, two sisters; Beatrice Anders and Mildred Shively both of Plymouth and a brother Harold (Betty) Amones of Bixby, Oklahoma . Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Geraldine was preceded in death by brothers Donald, Gerald, Eldon, Dwain and Charles Amones, her twin sister, Donna Jean Brundige and sisters Venus Chenowith and Margaret Ames. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2002 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth . The Rev. Dr. Paul Loder, pastor of Faith Baptist church will officiate. Entombment will follow in the New Oakhill Mausoleum, Plymouth .
Memorial gifts in Geraldine’s memory may be made to the Marshall Co. Hospice, the Church or the Cancer Fund.
