Gertrude B. Garrison, 82, a longtime Oak Road resident, died following a brief illness, at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2002 in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth. A lifetime area resident, she has made 805 Baker Street, River Park her home the past two years. Born in Bremen, Indiana, on October 21, 1919 , she was the daughter of Walter Bellman and Polly Poyser Hochstetler. Gertrude graduated from Bremen High School . Gertrude and Wilbur H. Garrison were married in Argos, Ind., on July 29, 1939, Wilbur preceded her in death on July 7, 1999 . A devoted wife, mother and grandmother; Gertrude was a talented cook who enjoyed family fishing and camping trips, always taking a great interest in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, nurturing African Violets and at one time had an extensive collection of ceramic shoes. Gertrude is survived by her daughter Barbara A. and Jerry Pearson of Plymouth and son Jeffrey L. and Donna Jean Garrison of New Castle, Ind., along with seven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. A brother Richard and Mary Hochstetler of Moline, Ill. and a sister-in-law Aileen Bellman of Marysville , Wash. also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and one brother Lloyd Bellman. Visitation with her family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2002 , in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. , Plymouth , Ind. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home on Friday, August 9, 2002. The Rev. Charles Krieg, Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial gifts in Gertrude’s memory may be made to Hospice of Marshall Co., 112 S. Center St., Suite C, Plymouth, Indiana 46563
