Goldie G. Keyhoe

November 3, 1904 — December 18, 2002

Ninety eight year old Goldie G. Kehoe went home to be with her Lord, at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2002. Goldie, who has resided at the Muncie Health Care Center over the past eight years, died of natural causes in the company of her loving family. Born at Inwood, Ind. on November 3, 1904 , she is the daughter of Frank H. and Dessie Davidson Baker. She attended Inwood schools. On November 3, 1924 in Niles , Michigan , Goldie married Pius A. Kehoe who preceded her in death on November 8, 1974. Goldie was a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren and practiced her Christian Faith to her fulfillment. She was also very business minded and owned and operated the popular Plymouth children’s apparel store, The Lad and Lassie Shop from 1944 – 1952. She then operated the B-K Drive-In at Knox , Ind. from 1955 – 1970 at which time she retired and began to enjoy travel, especially the southwest states. For over 25 years she made her home in St. Petersburg , Florida and in 1992 moved to the Muncie area where she could be closer to family. Other interests in life included painting ceramic pieces and making jewelry. While residing in Plymouth she was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1162 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, former Plymouth residents, Jeane (R. Vernon) Snoke of Avon Park , Florida and two sons, Donald C. (Mary) Kehoe of Centerville , Ind. and Fred (Barbara) Kehoe of Muncie , Ind. Ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren survive along with one brother Lester Thomas of Plymouth . Two sister-in-laws, Florence Thomas of Plymouth and Arlene Kletka of Mishawaka also survive. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father; Clarence S. Thomas, Pius her spouse, two sisters; Thelma Appleman and Wilma Compton, two brothers; Charles Thomas and Harold “Bud” Baker and one granddaughter Susan Marie Kehoe. Visitation with her family will be from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2002 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sat. following visitation by the Rev. David Kerkove, Pastor of the Plymouth Church of the Brethren. Burial will take place in the New Oakhill Cemetery , Plymouth . Memorial gifts in Goldie’s name may be made to the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, 1130 N. Michigan St. Plymouth, IN 46563
