Harold W. Suter

Harold W. Suter, 86, a Plymouth resident most of his lifetime, died unexpectedly of natural causes in the Emergency Room of Home Hospital in Lafayette, Ind. Harold, living in the Rosewalk Commons Assisted Living, Lafayette, for the past six years died at 7:17 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2004.

He was born at home in Bremen, Ind., the son of Walter and Esta Shively Suter on May 27, 1918. He graduated from Bourbon High School with the class of 1938.

On June 6, 1943, in LaPorte, Harold and Virginia Marks were married. Virginia died on April 1, 1998.

A lifelong farmer even as a youth, it was said that Harold was on a tractor before he could even walk.

In addition to farming, which he loved, he was an employee of Bremen Bearing for a number of years. He developed Suter’s Addition on 9 A Road off of Jefferson St., east of Plymouth.

Harold enjoyed Southern Gospel music and being with his family and friends.

He faithfully attended the Shiloh Wesleyan Church of Plymouth.

Harold is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene Kay and Douglas Kring, Lafayette, Ind.

A granddaughter and her husband, Kephany D. and Stan Powell and their son, Matthew R. Powell, all of Nellys Ford, Vir., also survive, together with a grandson Ryan V. Kring, Palm Harbor, Fla. Two nieces and a nephew survive as well. They are Jane Silvey, Middletown, Ind., Cheryl Ball, Rochester, Ind. and Gary Peters, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

A number of great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Visitation will be held in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2004, and for one hour preceding services on Sunday in the church.

Funeral services for Harold will be held in the Shiloh Wesleyan Church on Sunday, November 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. The Rev. John Perkinson, pastor of the church will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
