Harriet J. Scheetz

March 10, 1919 - January 28, 2018

Harriet J. Scheetz, 98, passed away at Orchard Pointe in Kendallville, Indiana at 9:46 a.m. on Sunday January 28, 2018.
Harriet was born in Plymouth, Indiana on March 10, 1919 to C.E. Haddock and Maybelle A. (Davis) Haddock. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1937. On December 26, 1939 in Plymouth, Harriet married Bernard F. Scheetz.
She worked for the Marshall County Government office for 48 years; she served as department and county auditor for 3 years and member and past president for the County Council for 8 years. Harriet is a Republican Women’s Club Member. She also attended St. Michael Catholic Church where she was co-director of the Harvest House, member of the Altar Rosary Society, and member and former president of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
Harriet is survived by her grandchildren, Traci (Chris) Blaize of Kendallville, IN and great-granddaughter K.J. Blaize.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Thomas Scheetz, and grandson, David Scheetz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 12 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church 613 N. Center Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the start of mass.
Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions can be made to David M. Scheetz Memorial Fund United Way of Carbon County, PO Box 434, Rawlins, WY 82301 or Ancilla College PO Box 1, Donaldson, IN 46513.
