Harry Eldon Shidler, 93, of Lakeville and formerly of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus.
Harry was born July 27, 1923 in Grass Creek, Indiana, to the late Harry E. and Olive (Zeider) Shidler Sr.
On December 16, 1943 in Plymouth, he married Vivian Jean Wade; and she survives.
He graduated from LaPaz high School in 1943. He went on to serve in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged.
Harry was an electrician for forty years, retiring from Herman & Getz. He was a member of the VFW, the Lakeville Conservation Club and a sixty-nine year member of the IBEW Local 153. Surviving is his wife of seventy-two years; Vivian Jean Shidler, his three children; Eldwyn (Sue) Shidler of Sacramento, California, Bruce (Cindy) Shidler of Plymouth, Leslie (Tina) Shidler of Elkhart, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister; Doris (Robert) Mueller of Plymouth and a brother; Robert (Cleo) Shidler of LaPaz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Susan Jean Shidler, and a brother; William Shidler.
