Helen A. White, 73, who has resided for the past 12 years at the home of her son, Jack, and his family, 17429 Tomahawk Trail, Plymouth, died of natural causes following an extended illness, at 11:11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Helen came to Plymouth from West Virginia and was formerly of Ligonier, Ind. She was born in Cabin Creek, West Virginia, on April 30, 1928, the daughter of E.A. and Ida Mae Binnion Carrol. She attended Leewood Junior/Senior High School. In April, 1945, in Cabin Creek, Helen and Robert E. White, a veteran of WWII, were married. Robert died on April 25, 1974. In Ligonier, Helen worked for the Ligonier Rubber Company doing work for the automotive industry. Later she was a nurses aide for nursing homes in West Virginia, near Charleston. Helen had an extensive doll collection which included dolls and angels of all types. A green thumb gardener, she spent a great deal of quality time with her grandchildren. Helen is survived by four sons and two daughters and their families. Her sons are: Robert E. and Mary White, Cabin Creek, W. Va.: Roger L. and Alma White, Charleston, W. Va., and Jefferey A. White and Jack W. and Priscilla White, all of Plymouth. Her daughters are: Sandra K. and Raymond Cook, Charleston, W. Va., and Pamela S. and Brandon Eidson, Goshen, Ind. Nineteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren survive together with one brother, E.A. Carrol, Jr., of Globe, Arizona. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, two grandsons: Trenton Andrew White and Joey Beverly. One sister, Mildred Carrol has also died. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2002, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2002, in the funeral home, Rev. Dave Severance, Chaplain with V.N.A. Home Care of St. Joseph Region Medical Center will officiate. Burial will be in the Tyner Cemetery, Tyner, Ind. Memorial gifts in Helen’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
