Lifetime Plymouth resident, Helen L. Jones, 89, passed away at 1:44 p.m. on Tuesday May 22, 2018 after an extended illness at the Hospice House of South Bend.

Helen was born on October 21, 1928 in Plymouth, Indiana to Russell W. and Lulu M. (Stone) Ganshorn.

In Donaldson, Indiana on January 19, 1947, Helen married Robert L. Jones.

She worked as a waitress at Schori’s Restaurant for 15 years and then for the former Koala Center (Behavioral Health Center) until her retirement due to her health in 2007.

Helen was an active member of the former Sunrise Chapel Church. She also enjoyed crocheting, painting and crafts.

She is survived by her children: Patricia (Phil) Nelson of Banning, CA, Rick (Pam) Jones of Plymouth, Cindy (Steve) Fishburn of Rochester and Janet Willyerd of Argos; grandchildren: Jennifer (Matt) Abshire, Dru (Stacy) Nelson, Tim (Angie) Jones, Kristi (Ryan) Skar, Dawn Zehner, Don (Emily) Fishburn, Derik (Jessica) Fishburn, Steve (Tracy) Stockman, Shana Lovelace and Jeremy Craig; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving are her siblings: Ruth Maddalena, Raymond (Betty) Ganshorn, Mary Large and Jean Wilma.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m.

Private family burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
