Helen L. Thompson

Helen Louise Thompson, 91, of Plymouth, passed away on June 18, 2026 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. She was born on July 6, 1934 to Sarah and Joe Warner and was the youngest of 12 children.

Helen dedicated her life to her family and was a stay at home mother and housewife all her life. She took care of people with a type of selflessness seldom seen. She also didn't hold back and spoke her mind freely which was one of her defining traits. She took care of, sheltered, and defended animals with a fiery passion. She loved all animals but her favorite was her many cats throughout the years. She never missed birthdays or putting flowers on loved-ones resting places on holidays. She enjoyed talk shows, sweets, and being unapologetically her. In her younger years she enjoyed yardsales and playing poker with her friends and family.

She married only once to Lee F. Thompson and they were together until his passing in 2002. She only had one child, her son, Ronald L. Warner, who she loved with all of her heart, and encouraged him to be himself through and through all the way until his passing in 2016.

Helen is survived by her two grandchildren, Tara Warner and Miles (Caitlyn) Warner, both of Plymouth. As well, she is survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Cedric, Jonathan, Lily, Vinny, Vera Lee, and Valkyrie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son and by all of her siblings.

In accordance with Helen's wishes no formal services will be held.

The family encourages instead of flowers or donations, contributions be made to the Plymouth Humane Society in her honor.
