cremation services Plymouth IN

Henrietta Resman, 74, peacefully passed away in her home at 5:08 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Born on February 7, 1948, in Dusseldorf, Germany, Henrietta was the daughter of Henry and Sophie (Karptiack) Wechman. Her family came to America in her elementary school years and settled in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Catholic grade school and graduated high school.

One night she went into a downtown bar to call for a ride home when she ran into the owner, Stephan Resman. The rest is history. They would have a catholic wedding in Chicago and be united in holy matrimony on November 25, 1968.

Henrietta worked at Sears Logistics in Illinois for forty-seven years ending as the shipping department manager. They family loved to have fun and host big BBQ cookouts with their Cicero, Illinois neighbors. The loved her tight knit neighborhood and everyone became like family.

After retirement, Stepan and Henrietta made Plymouth, Indiana their home. She loved gardening whatever it was from flowers to vegetables. She loved spending time with her family outside grilling or inside cooking. Her daughter spent a lot of time in the kitchen watching her make Polish, German, and American foods. Stephan never went to a salon because Henrietta would always cut it for him. The family enjoyed playing games, cards and summer vacations to Cape May, NJ. She taught her family patience and how to be a good caregiver to those in need.

Henrietta will be missed by her husband, Stephan; daughters, Samantha Resman and Jennifer (Bill) Ntories; granddaughters Sophia and Emily Ntories; brothers Victor and George Wechman; and cousins: Laura, Sue, Jeff and Ricky Petzke and Lisa Bocion; and good friends Tom Willson and Jim Blazck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sophie Wechman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Caryn Durski, Funeral Director
