Herman V. Doyle

Herman V. Doyle, 82 a Cleveland Road resident for the past twenty years, died at his home following an illness on Sunday morning, December 16, 2007.
Herm was born in Salem Indiana on November 15, 1925 the son of Cornelius and Ada Belle (Murrell) Doyle.
He served his country during WWII as a member of the U. S. Army – Statue of Liberty Infantry Division. During his first tour he was injured in Saipan and received the Purple Heart and returned to serve in Okinawa.
On January 23, 1948 he took as his bride the former Barbara Ann Singleton. She would precede him in death.
Herm retired in 1997 from Associates, where he performed the duties of general manager at various site locations throughout his career and was active in several business associations. Whatever Herm put his mind to, he did well, including playing the acoustic guitar at church and often on the radio. He was a member of the Baptist Faith.
Herm is survived by two sons; Vernon Wayne (Marion) Doyle of LaPaz, Ind. and Michael Neil (Kathleen) Doyle of Cassopolis, Mich. Eight grandchildren also survive they are: Shannon Michael (Joanne) Doyle, Erin Kathleen (Ron) Thompson, Kristin (Nathaniel) Harris, Amber Lynn Doyle, Benjamin Michael Doyle, Shea McCloughan, Carrie Horn and Chad McCloughan along with 7 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers; Foster (Violet) Doyle of Kentucky and Irvin (Becky) Doyle of Seymour, Ind. and two sisters; Clara Nolan formerly of Seymour and Jeanette Barkman of Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, three brothers; Delbert, Richard and Arthur Doyle and two sisters; Maude Doyle and Dorothy Cheek.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of sharing from 11 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, December 19th in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth where services will follow at Noon officiated by Michael Neil Doyle. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 West Cleveland Road, Granger, where military honors will be accorded to him.
Memorial gifts in his memory may be made to any Cancer Research Foundation.
