Irene B. Kantner

Irene B. Kantner, 87 of Tomah, formerly of Black River Falls, WI died on Wednesday April 14, 2010 at the Tomah VA Medical Center. She was born on December 11, 1922 in Elmwood Park. Illinois, Irene was the daughter of Peter and Helga (Alstad) Hansen. She married Donald C. Kantner in Chicago, Illinois on December 12, 1949. Irene had worked for Bendix Aviation, and served in the U.S. Army from 1944 thru 1945. She had been a member of the Millston Women’s Club. She loved her flower gardens Sewing and Crocheting
Irene is survived by 2 sons Peter (Debra) Kantner of Nampa, Idaho, and Clifton Kantner of Black River Falls, 4 grand-children Colleen Kantner, Dawn (Troy) Sommers, Samuel and Thomas and 4 great-grandchildren Ryden, Alexa, Lauren and Jackson; 2 brothers Verner Hansen of Indiana and Steve Hansen of Black River Falls, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Louis Hansen and a sister Marie Sims.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00pm on Sunday April 18, 2010 from the Torgerson Funeral Home in Black River Falls, WI. Kenneth Schoolcraft VFW Post Chaplain will officiate. Friends may call at the Torgerson Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 20, 2010 at the Fair Cemetery in North Liberty, Indiana. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street Plymouth, Indiana.
