James “Jim” Greer, 80, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.

He was born on October 26, 1944, in Plymouth, Indiana, to John J. and Lois (Hess-Miller) Greer.

Jim graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1962. He met Judy at Dilly’s Dump Restaurant while having lunch. Judy was a waitress, and they fell in love. They were married in 1965 at her uncle’s house in Syracuse. Jim and Judy shared 60 years of marriage.

Jim took over the family business hauling canned milk, then became a dairy farmer for 50 years. He was a man who stood for his Democratic beliefs and ethics, never missing a political meeting. Jim was very outgoing, loved to lend a hand to anyone in need, and he never met a stranger. In fact, he never forgot your name once he met you.

He is survived by his wife Judy of Plymouth; his children: John Greer of Plymouth; Janet Greer of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Kasey (Dominick) Zronek of Indianapolis; James Greer of Plymouth; Jacob Greer of Plymouth; and their mother Krista Greer; stepbrother Jay (Gale) Miller; stepsister Kay Miller; brother-in-law, Jerry (Nancy) Barnhart and sister-in-law Jane Geyer.

James is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Everett “Pat” Miller, and stepsiblings Lewis Miller and Kris Ether.
