James R. Osborne, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Peabody Nursing Home in North Manchester. The son of John Osborne and Marion Bamberg, Jim was born on October 16, 1954 in Detroit, MI.

Jim honorably served in the United States Navy from 1982 until 1993. During his time working at the Great Lakes Naval Station, Jim met his beloved wife Lorrie and they celebrated 38 years together. After his retirement from the Navy, Jim worked as a maintenance mechanic for Ocean Spray Cranberry in Kenosha, WI retiring in 2011.

A family man at heart, Jim cherished creating memories with his family. He looked forward to exploring the country with Lorrie on their Harley; one of their favorite trips was their cross-country road trip in their Subaru Crosstrek where they visited thirteen states out West.

Jim had a strong faith in God and a love for his country. He enjoyed his involvement with the Culver VFW Post 6919 and the friendships that he made there.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lorrie; children, Becky (Mike) Crawford, Ryan (Alba) Osborne, and James Osborne; grandchildren, David, Daniel, Lillie, Cristian and Amariah; great-grandson, Miles; sister, Pat Meadows; sister-in-law, Carolyn Osborne; along with many nieces and nephews. Jim will also be dearly missed by his furry companion, Tallie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marion; son, Jerry Garcia; siblings, Ray Osborne, John Osborne, Nancy Gautz, and Ann Blevins; and brother-in-law, Bruce Meadows.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 1-3PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 3PM with Life Celebrant James Smart officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Navy.
