Janice J. “Jan” Meredith, 78, passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 6, 2014 at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 30, 1936, Jan was the daughter of John B. and Josephine H. (Davis) Flowers. She graduated from Arsenal High School with the class of 1952.

Jan worked in criminal investigations for the Indiana Department of Revenue for 16 years. She retired in 1999, and moved to Plymouth.

She was a member of the Crossroads Evangelical Free Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed traveling, her most memorable trip being to Israel in 2000, reading and music of all genera. Jan was a cat lover and liked playing games on her computer.

She is survived by her sons, Frank (Teresa) Poole of Cambridge City, IN and David (Vickie) Poole of Ellsworth, WI; her brother, Roland Jordan of Davenport, IA; many grandchildren; her aunt, Nancy Davis of Plymouth; her nephew Robert (Toni) Tolbert of Plymouth; and cousin, Scott Davis of Plymouth.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tina Ratcliff; brother, Robert Tolbert Sr.; sister, Phyllis Tolbert; and sister-in-law, Ethel Tolbert.

Friends may visit with the family will be from 6 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home. A Memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m. with Pastor Paul Spasic officiating.

Private inurnment will be held in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
