Jo Ann (Webb) Macy, a lifelong resident of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026 at the age of 84. Born to the late Arden and Josephine (Warner) Webb, Jo Ann was a graduate of the class of 1959 at Lincoln High School and The South Bend College of Commerce with a secretarial degree.
On August 2, 1963, Jo Ann married the love of her life and best friend, Raymond Macy in Mexico, Indiana. Together, they built a beautiful life spanning over 44 years—a true partnership defined by unwavering support, mutual respect, endless patience, and a love that only deepened with time.
Jo Ann put her degree to work at the prominent Donald F. Kitch Law Office in Plymouth, and later worked for Morris Cressner at Cressner & Co., an insurance and real estate company. While her youngest child was in elementary, she also served as a teacher’s aide at Webster Elementary School. Beyond the roles she held outside the home over the years, Jo Ann’s true life’s work was the exceptional care, comfort, and unwavering strength she wholeheartedly gave to her family. Whether she was assisting Ray with home remodeling projects, attending one of their daughters' extracurricular activities, beautifying their yard in the summer, going antique shopping, diving into history, or enjoying a family vacation, she brought joy to those around her. Above all, she was a genuinely kind person to everyone she met—a trait those closest to her will always hold dear.
Her beautiful spirit lives on in her surviving family: her daughters, Julie Goble (Steve) and Jennifer Macy-Wilson (Michael); her granddaughters, McKenzie Price (Chandler) and Macy Nelson (Aaron); her great-granddaughter, Greta Price; her sister, Nelda Wright; and brother-in-law, Harry Macy (Delpha).
There is great comfort in imagining Jo Ann’s joyous reunion with her family who passed before her: her parents; her beloved husband, Raymond; her oldest daughter, Kimberlee; and her two brothers.
A private family graveside service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Jo Ann’s love for animals, donations can be made to the Marshall County Humane Society (PO Box 22, Plymouth, IN 46563) or a local rescue shelter in your area.
