Joan Irene Zink

November 28, 1927 — June 2, 2013

On Sunday, June 2, 2013, Joan Zink, 85, left this world to be with Jesus.

Joan was born in Teegarden, Indiana on November 18, 1927 and married Francis Don Zink, the love of her life, May 8 1948. They were married 65 years.

Their three children are: Cheryll (Gary) Wyne, of Indianapolis,

Ron (Mary) Zink, of Rochester, Rex (Margaret) Zink, of Ray, MI. Their 7 grandchildren are: Adam (Sarah) and Erik (Erica) Zink, Elizabeth (Zachary) Reyfus, Sam, Rex and Taylor Zink, and Sarah Wyne (Michael) Barber. Their 4 great-grandchildren are: Brayden and Camden Zink, and Brooke and Briana Reyfus.

Jean Miller of Rochester, sister, survives Joan and her other six siblings born to Fay and Marjorie Neidlinger.

Joan grew up loving animals, and her favorite was her horse, “Babe”. She and her little sister Ruthie used to ride their horses to Argos to watch Francis play baseball.

Joan went to Tobias Beauty School and graduated with a degree in cosmetology. She worked until the birth of her children. Later she was employed by Culver Military Academy. Joan and Francis were members of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Culver.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m., officiated by Ron Lowellen of the Emmanuel Methodist Church, Culver.

Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Thursday June 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. Memorial gifts may be given to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 401 S. Main Street, Culver, IN 46511.
