
Joe Holcomb, 76, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Born in Winamac, Indiana, on October 15, 1945, Joe was the son of Ervin H. and Vesta M. (McClellon) Holcomb. He graduated from Aubbeenaubbe High School where he excelled as a star athlete. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Spec4 until his Honorable Discharge.
In 1979 Joe married Barbara A. Wolff in Plymouth, Indiana, and to this union came two boys, Andrew “Beau” and Brett.
Joe was also a talented musician, playing guitar and singing. As a member of his band “The Country Travelers” he had the opportunity to entertain at festivals and venues. The Country Travelers relocated to Nashville, TN to join Rex Allen Jr. as his touring band.
He worked for Bomarko, Inc. in Plymouth for 23 years as a waxer and machine operator until his retirement in 2013.
Barb and Joe are faithful members of Plymouth Trinity United Methodist Church.
Joe is survived by his wife of 43 amazing years, Barb of Plymouth, and their sons, Beau (Bridget) Holcomb of Plymouth and Brett A. Holcomb of Streamwood, IL; his cherished grandsons, Isaak and Evan Holcomb of Plymouth; brothers, Orville (Kathryn), Keith (Ruthanne) and Jerry Holcomb and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Jeff and Walt and sisters, Sally Reed, Vivian Mersch and Joan Utter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 425 S. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Visitation will resume one hour prior in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Drew’s Gift of Music 1019 W. Jefferson Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
