John H. Walker

June 12, 1956 - February 9, 2023

Lifelong Plymouth resident John H. Walker, 66, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

He was born in Plymouth, Indiana on June 12, 1956 to James P. and Barbara (Falconbury) Walker. He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1975.

John’s biggest influence was the love and mentorship of his beloved grandfather, Hollis Falconbury, who helped him cultivate his mechanical skills as well as taught him how to be a film projectionist. John apprenticed with his grandfather at the Rees Theater for 2 years before taking over the job 1971-1978. John was trained in construction and pursued this career for several years before working as a mechanical engineer at several factories, lastly working for Foil Laminating Industries from 1993-2008, until retirement.

John was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. John was always available to lend a hand and support, as well as always willing to help and share his mechanical skills with several good friends. John also enjoyed discussing politics and had a fervent Democratic spirit.

He is survived by his sister Jeanne S. Walker of Santa Fe, NM, and his good friends and family; Jo Murray, Carmen Murray, and Sadie (Ferguson) Ritschard of Walkerton, IN.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Walker and sisters, Janet Walker and Jo Morrow.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at St. Michael Church, 613 N. Center Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of mass.

Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202.
