Kay Langdon

Kay Langdon, 82, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Friday in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus.

Born at home on April 29, 1936 in Argos, Indiana, she was the daughter of Homer A. and Dorothy Mae (Croy) Personette. She was raised in the Argos/Culver area and graduated with the Culver High School Class of 1954. Kay had an endless smile and brought laughter to any occasion. Then one evening at the Candy Kitchen in Plymouth, she met a young Thomas V. Langdon and they would marry on July 19, 1958 in St. Michael Catholic Church. They established a loving and joy filled home on Pretty Lake for the past 60 years. There they raised three children: Julie A., Thomas V. Jr. and David J.

Kay had her career start as a flight attendant with American Airlines and then assisted in the daily operation of Pat’s Bar, The Bottle Stop and Professional Caterers in LaPaz. There was no question Kay knew how to treat her customers and staff. She enjoyed cooking, hosting friends and family and simply life on the lake.

A member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Kay was a former member of Tri-Kappa in Plymouth.

Cherished memories will remain with her spouse Tom, children and families. They are: Julie & John Chamberlin of Plymouth and daughter Nicole & Sean McGoff with Colin and Maeve of Indianapolis, Tom & Cyndi Langdon of Plymouth and children; Cody Langdon and Lance & Audrey Gibbons with Randi, Mike and Josh and Dave & Michelle Langdon of Plymouth and children; Kyle Langdon, Kayla Langdon & Michael Houin with Landon and Kyler.

Her surviving sisters are: Barbara Peters of Plymouth, Bonnie Smith of Plymouth and Susie (Ray) Schraeder of North Carolina along with many nieces and nephews. A brother-in-law Bob Jones and sister-in-law Betty Langdon also survive.

She was preceded in death by siblings; Virginia Mae Hendersen, Lorena Belle Neidlinger, Mariola Morrison, Jeane Hillabrand and Homer Personette.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth where a rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Thursday, January 3rd in St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St. Mass of Christian Burial will begin there at 11 a.m. with Fr. Craig Borchard officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
