Kenton H. Thornburg

February 23, 1957 - April 5, 2021

Kenton H. Thornburg, 64, passed away on Monday morning, April 5, 2021 at Starke Hospital in Knox.

Kent was born on February 23, 1957 in Plymouth, Indiana. He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1975.

Shortly after graduation, Kent enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a jet mechanic during the Vietnam War. He would be Honorably Discharged on May 16, 1979.

On May 10, 1980, Kent took Rebecca L. Dreibelbis as his wife. Together, they raised two daughters, Stephanie and Michelle. They would leave Plymouth and live in Colorado for 18 years, before returning to Knox in 2019.

Kent loved playing, listening, and singing music. He loved to laugh and was quite the goofball. He was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed motorcycles and old cars.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca of Knox; his daughter, Stephanie Maxson and daughters Jessica and Arianna; daughter, Michelle Fear and daughter Haley; and siblings, Lois “Jeanie” Warren and Ron Thornburg.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents.

At this time, no services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made to your local D.A.V.

So very sorry to hear of Kent’s passing. Growing up, I went to same church as the Thornburgs and spent time at their family home with his sister Jeanie. Lots of fun memories and Kent and his brother Ron always had us laughing. He was a good soul, and even though I haven’t seen him in years, the memories are there.
