Khambod Sayavongsing

Khambod Sayavongsing, 63, died of natural causes at his home, 10019 Upas Road, Plymouth at 1:45 a.m., on Sunday, March 25, 2007.

Born on January 13, 1944, in Vientiane, Laos, Khambod was the son of Liane and Bounholm .

On August of 1966, in Laos, Khambod and Bounpheng Khomchunlata were married.

Khambod worked at the American Embassy in Laos.

He and his family immigrated to Plymouth in 1980 as refugees from the Indochina war. They were sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ at Ancilla. Khambod repaid their gratitude by working in the maintenance department at Ancilla. Khambod was a hard worker. He was proud of his children and worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and children and to give them the opportunities and happiness offered in this country. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and farming. He also enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He loved animals of all kinds and treated them with tremendous respect. Khambod is survived by his wife and two daughters, Photchany Susan and Leon Li, Oak Park, Illinois: and Mon Sayavongsing and her fiancé, Jason Carroll of Raleigh, North Carolina. A son also survives: Jovee Santy and Stacy Sayavongsing, Culver, Indiana.

Khambod is survived by four grandchildren.

He is also survived by seven siblings, they are Tong Lot, Bor Xay, Chan Xay, Tong Bai, Soum Chai, Tong Mai, Prong Mai Lai

Friends may celebrate Khambod’s life with his family on Friday, March 30, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007, in the funeral home.
