L.C. Longmire

March 20, 1930 — May 22, 2005

L.C. Longmire, 75, of 5174 East 575 North Rochester, Ind., died of natural causes at 10:35 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2005, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana.

L.C. was born on March 20, 1930, in La Follette, Tenn. He was the son of Birt and Ethel Bailey Longmire. He attended schools in La Follette.

He has been a resident of the Marshall County area since 1957.

L.C. was first married to Mary Ruth Holmes in 1953. On Sept. 7, 1975, in Plymouth, L.C. and Mary Helen Mickiewicz were married.

L.C. worked in the Bremen Casting Foundry for 34 years, retiring in 1988.

He enjoyed doing carpentry and mechanical work, and, being a musical man, he sang and played the guitar.

L.C. is survived by a son and three daughters. They are Lawrence Gene Longmire, Warsaw; Marilyn D. and Randy Craven, Audrey Sue and Jason Hickle, all of Rochester and Christina G. Longmire, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Two grandchildren, Jason and Gina Longmire of Bourbon, survive as well.

Two brothers and four sisters also survive L.C.’s death. They are: Dewey (Mary Lou) Longmire, Orange, Texas, and Earl Longmire, Tenn.; Rosalie (Charles) Huff, Tenn.., Ada Mae Woods, Gladys Morris, and Naomi Bryge, all of LaFollette, Tenn.,

He was preceeded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Pauline Longmire, Alice Faye Longmire.

Friends will be welcomed by the family on Friday, May 27, 2005, from 11 to 1 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services will follow visitation in the funeral home at 1 p.m. and will be officiated by Brother Mark Cottrill , pastor of the Bourbon United Pentecostal Church.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery.
