Lawrence Joseph Kriss

December 11, 1954 - July 14, 2018

Lawrence “Doboy” Joseph Kriss, of Plymouth, passed away early Saturday morning, July 14, 2018 in his residence in Plymouth.
He was born in Knox, Indiana on December 11, 1954 to Joseph and Marcella (Sramek) Kriss.
Larry is a 1972 graduate of NJSP High School. He attended the American Institute of Baking International, Manhattan, KS and Business Management at Ancilla College, Donaldson.
Larry was a loving husband to Gwendolyn “Gwen” Anliker, who he married on September 7, 1985 in the Medaryville Christian Church, Medaryville, Indiana.
He worked for many years at Fingerhut Bakery in North Judson and Plymouth, Jarosch Bakery in Elk Grove, Illinois, Bunny Bakery in LaPorte, and Martin’s Bakery in South Bend. From there he worked in the deli and sporting goods at Wal-Mart here in Plymouth.
Larry was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed baking treats for his family. Two of his most requested items were his triple chocolate cheesecake and his apple pies. His family counted on him to marinate the turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner and to supply the pizza dough for their traditional Christmas Eve celebration. He also enjoyed golfing and growing tomatoes.
Surviving with his wife; Gwen, are their three sons; Nathan of Colorado Springs, Cameron and Austin, both of Plymouth. Also surviving are four sisters and one brother; Sr. Elise Kriss, OSF of Fort Wayne, Michelle (Loretta) Kriss of South Bend, Jane (Kriss) and Dexter Howard of Knox, Catherine (Kriss) and Randy Minor of Fort Wayne, and Richard and Joan Kriss of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Marcella (Sramek) Kriss, and a nephew; Brandon Howard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 4-7 PM in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth, Indiana 46563.
A private Celebration of Life Service for the family will take place on Wednesday.
