
On Opening Day of the 2022 baseball season God called up Leonard “Butch” Gilley from the minor leagues to play in Heaven’s playground. Butch was born On November 19, 1946 the son of Leonard “Al” Gilley and Margaret “Marge” Gilley (Wickey) in Plymouth, Indiana. Butch was a veteran of the United States Navy. Butch was a lover of sports always cheering for his Cubs, Raiders and Irish. Butch had a great love of his family.
He is survived by his daughter Christine (Steven) Aronow of Jacksonville, Florida; Son, Cory Amarello of Kokomo, IN; Butch had three grandchildren (Alexa Amarello, Erin Reed and James Reed III); by two brothers, Jerry (Janet) Gilley of South Korea and Rick (Julie) Gilley of Plymouth along with two sisters Vickie Blair of Plymouth, Indiana and Kaye Wilcox of Payson, Arizona; 6 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in Death by his daughter Jacky and Sister, Bev.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A Celebration of life will immediately follow with sharing from family and friends.
All are invited to come celebrate Butch’s life as he will be celebrating with us in God’s eternal happy hour.
