Louis Gene Wilson

February 20, 1938 — April 22, 2000

Louis Gene Wilson, 62, a 30-year resident of Indianapolis, coming from Ft. Wayne, Ind., died at his home, 1304 Tecumseh St., on Saturday, April 22, 2000 at 1:40 p.m.

Gene was born at home in Kewanna, Ind., on February 20, 1938, the son of Hugh H. and Zora A. Neff Wilson.  He graduated from Kewanna High School in 1956 and then from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science.

He married Nancy P. Johnson who preceded him in death, on February 19, 1980.

For a time, Gene worked for Flanner-Buchanan Mortuaries of Indianapolis.  He then became employed with the Marion County Sheriffs Department and retired in February of 1998 from Security at RCA-Thompson Electronics, Indianapolis.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was an accomplished woodworker and followed Indianapolis Racing.

Gene was a member of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by a brother, Robert W. and Zolana Wilson of Lake of the Woods, Bremen, a sister-in-law, Lois Wilson of Kewanna, two nephews and three nieces.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and Arthur Dennis Wilson, a brother.

Friends may visit with his family on Wednesday, April 26, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.

Funeral services, conducted by the Reverend Dr. David H. Tripp, pastor of the Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen, Ind. will follow visitation at 8 p.m.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2000, in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna, Ind.
