Louis J. Calhoun

May 14, 1931 - March 25, 2016

Louis J. Calhoun, 84, of Rochester and formerly of Plymouth, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, March 25, 2016 at his residence.
Louis was born May 14, 1931 in Fulton County, to the late Lewis J. and Rosie (Haine) Calhoun Sr.
Louis had attended Liberty Baptist Church, Rochester for a few years. He had several jobs over the years. He had worked at a Trailer Company, a Fertilizer Plant, Kralis Brothers and a tree cutting service.
Louis really enjoyed eating out, he loved going to Pat’s Landing in Rochester to eat out by the water so he could watch the ducks and geese swim by. When he was healthier, he enjoyed eating lunch at the Rochester Community Center. Besides eating out, he absolutely loved planes and watching them take off and land. Surviving is a brother; John Calhoun of Plymouth. Also surviving is his care-giver who took care of him and considered them as his foster parents; Katrina and Ronald Swihart of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents, six ½ sisters; Minnie Gaines, Marie Clarence, Mary Griggs, Myrtle Vermillion, Annabelle Heminger and Sylvia Chew, one ½ brother; Robert Whitesell.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the New Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Taylor Hulse officiating. Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
