Luethisia “Tish” Hillman

March 18, 1934 — August 15, 2010

Luethisia E. “Tish” Hillman, 76, a resident of 2000 Westgate Avenue, Plymouth. She passed away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in Miller’s Merry Manor following a three week illness. There she received the highest level of care and attention.

Tish was born the daughter of Harvey A. Gaines Sr. and Elizabeth E. (Watkins) Gaines on March 18, 1934 in Plymouth. She graduated from Plymouth High School.

She and her former spouse Donald K. Hillman of Plymouth. together raised four children: D. Keith (Sandy) Hillman Jr. of Wyandotte, Mich., Julie A. (Stan) Palmer, Donna K. (Al) Palbykin and Robert D. (Crystal) Hillman all of Plymouth along with twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Tish loved her family unconditionally and was a constant presence in all of their lives. She never turned down a chance to play any type of board game, Dominos for sure or a quick trip to the casino. Her favorite musical artist was Conway Twitty.

She has two surviving sisters: Esther VanBlaricom and Pauline Atkins both of Plymouth and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters: Grace Gaines and Ethel Warner a brother Harvey A. Gaines Jr. and a half-brother, Dean Sutherlin.

Tish was a member of the Church of the Heartland, Plymouth, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Women of the Moose.

Friends are invited to join the family in celebrating the life of Tish Hillman on Wednesday, August 18th from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will immediately follow visitation at 7 p.m. with Pastor Herb Hiatt officiating.

Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery next to her parents.
