Lynne Dittmer

Lynne Dittmer, 59, died at her residence, 3169 Redwood Road, Walkerton, IN., following a long battle with cancer, at 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2008.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on August 23, 1949, Lynne was the daughter of Walter and Hildred Ferchoff Golomb. She graduated from Thornton High School, Dolton, ILL., with the class of 1967.

On August 17, 1968, in the Dolton Church of the Nazarene, Dalton, ILL., Lynne and the Rev. Mike Dittmer were united in marriage.

A homemaker, she took care of raising their children. She taught quilting classes and helped with the day-to-day operation of the Family Bible Fellowship in LaPaz, IN.

She enjoyed scrapbooking and all sorts of crafts. She loved to sew, loved to cook and bake and spending time with their grandchildren.

Lynne was involved with the Blueberry Festival, the Family Bible Fellowship and singing as a family.

She is survived by her husband and their two daughters: Rebecca (Tim) Taberski, Plymouth and Wendelyn (Charles) Daly, Walkerton, IN.

Four grandchildren survive as well. They are Alexandra, Elizabeth and Zachary Taberski, Plymouth, and Matthew Daly, Walkerton.

She is also survived by her mother, Hildred Golomb, Plymouth, Indiana

Lynne was preceded in death by her son, William Michael Dittmer III, a grandson, William Michael Daly, and father, Walter Golomb.

Friends are invited to share memories and celebrate the life of Lynne Dittmer with her family on Thursday, October 16, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday, October 17, 2008, at the Blissville Church of the Brethren, 6250 Spruce Trail, Plymouth, IN. Funeral services for Lynne will be on Friday, October 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Blissville church. The Revs Mark Hostetler, Grace Church of the Nazarene, Portage, IN. will officiate.

Burial will be in Morris Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Lynne’s memory may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
