Madeline Jean Rensberger

December 24, 1928 - July 22, 2018

Madeline Jean Rensberger, 89, passed away early Sunday morning on July 22, 2018 at the Hospice House of South Bend.
Madeline was born in Monterey, Indiana on December 24, 1928 to Edward C. and Ida (Appler) Master. She graduated from Monterey High School with the class of 1947.
On February 21, 1953 in Monterey, Madeline became the wife of Rowdy J. Rensberger. She worked as a secretary for Culver Academy after high school. Madeline then worked for the State Exchange Bank in Argos and Culver, retiring as the head bookkeeper.
Madeline frequented the Argos Public Library and enjoyed reading all the books she could get her hands on. She taught 4-H leather craft and kept family records for her side of the family that went back decades. She loved hummingbirds, playing cards and dominos, embroidering and sewing.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth; where she attended Harvest House meetings with her sister.
She is survived by her husband of 65 wonderful years, Rowdy, of Argos and their four children: Michael J. (Kathy) Rensberger of Starke, FL, Ronald J. (Pat) Rensberger of Argos, Karen J. (Ken) Weiland of Olmsted Falls, OH and Edward J. (Cana) Rensberger of Starke, FL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Alberta Wilcockson of Plymouth and sister-in-law, Evelyn Rensberger of Rochester.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth with Fr. Craig Borchard officiating. Visitation will be held prior from 10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will take place at a later date in Monterey, Indiana.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Argos Public Library, 142 N. Michigan Street, Argos, IN 46501 or Center for Hospice Care-South Bend, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
