Margaret Ellen Sherwood

June 27, 1920 - December 19, 2010
In Memorial

Margaret Ellen Sherwood, 90, of 13469 7th Road, Plymouth, died of natural causes in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth, at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2010.
Margaret was born in Tyner, Indiana, on June 27, 1920. She was the daughter of Arthur and Pearl Bradley McQuisten. She attended school until the 6th grade.
On November 16, 1939, in Plymouth, Margaret Ellen McQuisten and Benjamin Sherwood were married.
A farmer’s wife she helped raise dairy cows, hogs and chickens in Teegarden, Bourbon, Walkerton and Plymouth. .
A hard worker on the farm, she also worked hard to raise their five children along with their livestock. Margaret also raised fruit and vegetables and had a beautiful flower garden.
Margaret is survived by her daughter and four sons, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Her daughter is Mary Ellen Sherwood, Plymouth, and her sons are: Ronald D. and Laberta Sherwood and Kenneth and Rose Mary Sherwood, all of Bourbon; David L. and Darcia Sherwood, Walkerton, and Ed and Mary Louise Sherwood, Macomb, Ill.
One sister, Mable Griggs, South Bend and a brother, Russell McQuisten, Plymouth, survive as well.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, and two sisters.
Friends will be welcomed to celebrate Margaret’s life with her family on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Margaret will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010; at 2 p.m. John Birkey will officiate.
Burial will be in the Morris Cemetery, LaPaz, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
