Margaurite L. “Maggie” McHargue, 78, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in the home of her daughter and in the care of her loving family.
Maggie was born in Plymouth on April 22, 1932, the daughter of John T. and Ada R. (Watkins) Gaines. She attended Plymouth schools and was a lifetime Plymouth resident who formerly resided in the Westgate Apartments.
On April 17, 1949 Maggie became the bride of Arnold “Mel” McHargue together they would have seven children, twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. For several years she worked as an aide at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth and for five years as a driver for JJR providing transportation to the disabled and loved interacting with the many children and parents.
Maggie truly loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow. And in turn they loved her sharing special times like baking a family favorite – Pumpkin Rolls for the Holidays. She also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
She was a member of the Shiloh Wesleyan Church and volunteered with her good friend Diana at Tuesday evening worship services at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Her daughters are: Ruth Ann and Ed Clemons of Grovertown, Nancy Lynn and Kevin Ames, Dawn Marie and John Sellers, and Tina Louise and Don Bunton, all of Plymouth.
