Marilyn J. Lacher

Marilyn J. Lacher, 69, passed away following an extended illness at 2:57 p.m. Saturday, March 8th in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Mishawaka. Marilyn is a lifetime Marshall County resident now residing at Garden Court East – 501 Pennsylvania Ave. G4 in Plymouth.
Marilyn was one of three daughters born to Ernest W.M. and Mildred M. (Yockey) Davis. She was born in Plymouth, Indiana on October 3, 1944. Her parents would precede her in death.
Marilyn was a graduate of Bremen High School in 1962. She met Larry L. Lacher from Plymouth at a church softball game and with no errors, the couple married on December 29, 1963 in the Riverside E.U.B Church at Bremen. They enjoyed the next 50 years doing and planning everything together. They practiced their faith at the Plymouth Trinity United Methodist Church as active members with Marilyn singing in the choir and at one time having served as custodian.
Prior to her marriage, Marilyn worked for Bornemann Products in Bremen. The couple offered babysitting services to many Plymouth families through the years in their home.
Marilyn enjoyed life even in ill health and was creative coloring and painting, especially bird houses, solving word search puzzels and embroidery work.
Surviving is her loving husband, Larry, two children and three grandsons. Her daughter Kimberly K. Lacher of Argos and her sons; Ronald, Travis and Wyatt, and son Christopher L. “Chris” Lacher of Plymouth will dearly miss her presence. She is also survived by her sisters Karen Baker of Bremen, Lanetia Christner of Warsaw, special cousin Joyce Reed of Bremen and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12th from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 13th in the Trinity United Methodist Church, 425 S. Michigan St., Plymouth where visitation will resume one hour prior to services. Reverends Dexter Garman and Mark Need will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Oakhill Cemetery – Memorial Gardens.
Preferred are memorial gifts to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
