Marilyn Weaver

Marilyn Weaver, 76, of 13337 4th Road, Plymouth, died of natural causes at 9:32 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2009, in Elkhart Hospice House.
Marilyn was born in Plymouth on October 24, 1932. She was the daughter of Reathel Alice (Fruits) Gordon and Chester “Bluegill” Lyle Gordon.
Marilyn attended Plymouth schools and graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1951. She continued her education in Chicago as a medical records keeper and subsequently worked for over 50 years for the Plymouth Hospitals in the Medical Records Dept. Marilyn loved working with the cancer board and assisting doctors to brain storm their way through difficult cancer cases to find possible solutions. She was the Director of Medical Records for over 30 years.
On October 12, 1952, in Plymouth, she and Robert Weaver were married. Her husband of 57 years still lives in the home they built together with their own two hands.
Marilyn was involved with the Red Cross as a volunteer and as a member of the Disaster Committee. She was the 4-H instructor for North Township for 30 years and enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching sewing and music. While in high school she was part of a talented singing trio. She and Robert traveled extensively all over the U.S. and Canada.
Marilyn leaves family who will cherish memories of her: three children: Daniel Weaver and Mike Weaver of Plymouth and Susan Weaver of Delray Beach, Florida. Her brother, Charles Lyle Gordon, of Plymouth, also survives, together with her grandchildren, Kimberly and Scott Weaver and Marilyn’s very much cherished great-grandchild, Cailyn.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends are invited to celebrate Marilyn’s life with her family on Sunday, October 25, 2009, from 2 go 6 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Pastor Ruth Yoder of the Brethren Church, Plymouth, will officiate. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions in Marilyn’s memory may be given to the American Red Cross – Marshall County Chapter, 215 W. Garro St., Plymouth, Indiana 46563.
