Marjorie A. DeMien

October 28, 1924 - November 4, 2017

Marjorie A. DeMien, 93, passed away at her residence, in the loving care of her family and the Center for Hospice Care, at 5:10 PM, Saturday, November 4, 2017.
Born in Plymouth, Indiana, on October 28, 1924, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Martin) Heyde.
She graduated from LaPaz High School in 1942.
On Christmas Day, December 25, 1942, in Plymouth, at the Heyde family home, Marjorie and Eugene K. DeMien Sr. were married. Eugene passed away on January 9, 2002.
Marjorie had worked for Bob’s Cafeteria for approximately ten years, then went to work for Parkview Hospital and retired from Holy Cross Hospital.
A dedicated Christian, Marjorie was a member of the North Salem Church of God for over seventy years. She was involved in the 4-H Pet and Hobby, North Salem Church of God Ladies Circle and the Women’s Connection.
Surviving are her two sons and their families.
Her sons are: Eugene K. Jr. and Penny DeMien of Plymouth, Stephen P. and Anna DeMien of Maryland, five grandchildren; Nicole and Joel Drang, Erin and Andy Hartley, Angela DeMien, Amy DeMien and Andrea DeMien, and four great-grandchildren; Bryton Hiatt, Nathanael Hiatt, Mia Hartley and Jack Hartley.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two siblings; Mary Lou DeMien and Louis Heyde.
Friends may visit with her family from 11-1 PM Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM on Thursday with her son, Stephen P. DeMien, CH (LTC) retired U.S. Army, officiating, and Pastor Bob Collier providing a prayer.
Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the North Salem Church of God, 13263 4th Road, Plymouth, Indiana 46563 or to the donor’s choice.
