Marvin L. Klingerman

Marvin L. Klingerman, 94, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on September 9, 1928 in Tyner, Indiana he was the son of Jacob F. and Alta Mae (Smith) Klingerman.

He attended Tyner High School graduating with the class of 1946.  In 1948 he married Norma Leslie, she survives.

For 46 years Marvin worked for McCord’s as a machine operator before retiring in 1994. Known as one of the most giving, loving and God-fearing men that you would ever meet that always carried an overwhelming amount of patience. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing and tinkering on anything that was mechanical. He also loved watching his games shows whenever possible, especially when it came to Vanna White.

He was a member of Tyner United Methodist Church and a 70 year member with  the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Tyner 821 Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Norma of Plymouth; children: Debra (William) Krone of Michigan City; Brett (Susan) Klingerman of Plymouth; Jeanine Dunfee of Plymouth; Jon Klingerman of Tyner; Kevin (Laurie) Klingerman of Tyner; grandchildren: Tracy (Merrick) Dresnin, Blake (Sara) Klinedist, Ryan (Melissa) Klingerman, Christopher (Yessi) Klingerman, Ian Dunfee, Michael (Tabitha) Dunfee, Carrie (Casey) Johnson, Brea (Brandon) Balsley, Allie (Clint) Maddox, 15 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his 5 siblings.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Cathy Wesolek officiating.

Burial will take place at Tyner Cemetery, Tyner.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place  Memphis, TN 38105 or to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 111 Sunnybrook Ct.
