Mary Alice Large, 91 of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 9:33 am Saturday, December 2, 2023, in Millers Merry Manor, Plymouth.
On July 3, 1932, she was born in Plymouth to Russell and Lula (Stone) Ganshorn. She was united in marriage to John Large in 2006, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2013.
Mary was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She was a very outgoing and happy Christian woman, who had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh. Mary was a member of Poplar Grove United methodist Church, Culver, where she was very active. After the children were raised, Mary worked for Modine Manufacturing Co., La Porte until her retirement.
Mary is survived by five children, Larry (Shiela) Wallace, Burlison, Tennessee, Dana (Cheryl) Wallace, Fort Wayne, Marsha McPherson, Frankfurt, John E. (Brooke) Large Jr. Culver and Jennifer (Adam) Vantwoud, Warsaw; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and her sister, Jean Wilma, Plymouth.
Mary was also preceded by her parents, her daughter, Rebecca Haining; four brothers which include her twin brother Bud, Raymond, Ralph, Everett and three sisters, Hazel, Ruth, and Helen.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Poplar Grove Cemetery, Culver, Indiana with Pastor Mike Anspaugh officiating. Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, State Road 10, Culver, Indiana 46511.
