Mary Lou Price

May 23, 1939 — December 2, 2017

SHE LOVED

Mary Lou Price was born in Donaldson, Indiana to Floyd and Mary Clark. She was the youngest child and only girl growing up with three older brothers. You can imagine the teasing she got. But boy oh by, if anyone else did the teasing they were right there to protect her. She was known for her beautiful auburn hair. She attended Bourbon High School and was in the graduating “Class of 57”. She worked at the theatre in town during high school. She enrolled at Warner Beauty College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After graduating she worked at Isabelle’s Beauty Shop in Argos, Indiana.

She married the love of her life on September 18, 1960 at the First United Methodist Church in Bourbon, Indiana. She left the beauty shop to start her family. Mary Lou practiced her craft on her family members. Mary Lou was an excellent cook and baker thanks to her mother. She loved to host family dinners. She loved all of her family, friends and neighbors and prayed for them daily without fail. She was religious but knew how to cut up and have fun. You could even say she was quite a feisty character at times. She would travel around to car shows with her husband back in the 70’s and 80’s. They traveled to NSRA car shows in Columbus, Ohio, Memphis, Tennessee and Kalamazoo, Michigan. The 1934 ford 3 window coupe is a family member and we have lots of fond memories of being together cruising. Mary Lou also enjoyed many a morning sitting out on her patio sipping coffee with her husband watching the birds come and go at the feeders. She was especially fond of cardinals. She liked to do word search and crossword puzzles, reading harlequin books and her bible/daily devotions. She loved watching movies, Food Network and HGTV, listening to 50’s, old country and gospel music. Facebook kept her in touch with long lost relatives, high school friends and she acquired many new friends as well. Thanks to Danny Holderman and his beautiful photography, she was able to see the outside world. She enjoyed visiting with her daughters and son-in-law’s in Florida. Mary Lou would easily get homesick and was always happy to be back home again in Indiana. She had not left her home in her later years due to her declining health. Although Mary Lou lived in pain for many years, she had a wonderful spirit about her. She was fortunate to have kind neighbors willing to help out when needed. Thank you to Kimberly and Kris Berger and Cindy Ambrose. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years and 3 months, Alan (Dee) Price; her parents; in-laws, Carl and Grace Price; brothers, John, David, Wallace (Donna), and Howard; brother-in-law, Marshall Price; and nephews: Scott Clark and Danny Clark.

She is survived by her daughters: Brenda Price, Linda Price (Rabih Boudargham), and Angela Price (Sean Beddow), as well as, fur grandbabies: Bella, Bentley, Vlad, Willow, Jasper, Callie and Lily.

Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law’s and their families: Shirley Clark and children, Dave (Jo Ellen) Clark, Melody Clark, Brandon (Jennifer) Clark and Heidi Clark; Pamela (Butch) Ende Crosby and children, Shane Campbell, Chip Fletcher and Damian (Patrick) Perris Murray; Mark (Becky) Price and children Mitch Price, Pam (Drew) Price Sarka, Will (Carolina) Fransden, and Shelley (Rob) Johnson; Judy Price and children: Max (Ann) Price, Kathy (Steve) Blackford, Gary (Barbie) Price, Brent (Christi) Price, and Marsha Jones; and Kerry (Sue) Price and children, Kevin (Lori) Price and Kara (Mark) Messmore.
