She literally taught over a thousand students till she retired after 36 years of teaching in 1996. Many of her students have shared with others over the years their fond memories of having Mary Esther as their teacher. She faithfully cared for children outside of school, lovingly feeding any that needed a meal or offering any kind of help.

Mary was adventurous and loved to travel, taking many bus trips around the nation and even venturing to Africa on safari.

She married Donald Weirick on Oct 29, 1976. She had two stepchildren, Paula and David. Donald unfortunately passed away in 1989.

Mary Esther was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church in Argos, IN. She played the piano there and even substituted at the Bible Church in Argos, playing twice in one morning.
