Milton E. Eyrich

February 20, 1928 — September 13, 2023

Milton E. Eyrich, 95, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at home. Born on February 20, 1928 he was the son of Leo E. and Goldie Marie (Miller) Eyrich.

He attended Bourbon High School graduating with the class of 1946. On April 10, 1949 he married Shirley Ann Ferris in Plymouth and together they enjoyed raising a family and much of what life had to offer.  She preceded him in death on July 16, 2014.

Milton worked for Bendix Corporation in South Bend in the service department for 30 years before retiring in February 1981. He spent his early years of retirement working on his family farm in Bourbon.

He was a quiet man who was honest to a fault.  A man of few words, if he had something to say it was either going to be important or he was going to make you laugh.  He always had a wise-crack, especially when spending time with his nephew Doug. He had a keen ear for listening to those who he cared about most.   Milton was no stranger to hard work as he could make just about anything with his hands while working in his shop, “Milt’s Doghouse.”

He loved working on jigsaw puzzles, fishing and watching John Wayne movies.  He and Shirley Ann wintered in Lake Placid, Florida where they enjoyed playing cards with dear friends.

He is survived by his daughter Susan (Tom) Breeden of Plymouth, IN; sister Alice Miller of Tefft, IN; daughter-in-law Mishelle Eyrich of Plymouth, IN; grandchildren: Monica (Brad) Parkhurst of Plymouth, IN; Sara (Randy) Wilde of Richwood, OH; Chad (Rachael) Eyrich of Ft. Wayne, IN; Mark Neal of Georgia; great-grandchildren: Evan (Emily) Parkhurst, Alex Parkhurst, Celia Eyrich, Gianna Eyrich, Oliver Eyrich, Urban Eyrich, Addison Wilde. As well as several nieces and nephews.

Milton is preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley Ann, son Michael, and brothers: Carl and Dale.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 4-6 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Sam Boys officiating.
