Minnie Ada Beck

January 31, 1923 — December 29, 2000

Minnie Ada Beck, who resided at 805 Baker St., Plymouth, since 1994, coming from LaPorte, suffered a heart attack and died at 10 p.m. in St. Mary’s Hospital, Tucson, Arizona, on Friday, Dec. 29, 2000. Minnie had spent the last several winters in Tucson. She was 77 years old.

Born in Harvey, Illinois, on January 31, 1923, she was the daughter of Herbert and Cara Cowenhoben Madsen. She graduated from high school in Harvey, Illinois in 1940.

On February 23, 1943, she married Ray E. Beck in Harvey, lll., just one week before Ray was shipped to Europe with the U.S. Army.

Minnie worked for the United States government in various capacities for several years and was office manager for Industrial Pattern Works in LaPorte, lN, retiring in 1988.

She did a great deal of craftwork and especially enjoyed knitting. She and Ray loved to travel and have visited all fifty states. Most of all, she liked spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She attended Grace Baptist Church, Plymouth and had also attended the Grace Baptist Church of LaPorte, Ind.

Minnie is survived by her husband, Ray, their daughter and two sons and their families. They are: Linda and Robert Easton, their children, William and Candice, Cleveland, Texas: Herbert and Katie Beck and their children Matthew and Emily, Littleton, Colorado, and Robert and Debra Beck and their children, Adam, Megan and Eric, all of Plymouth.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Andrew Madsen.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Jan. 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home.

Funeral services the following visitation at 8:00 p.m. will be officiated by Pastor Pete Wardlow of the Grace Baptist Church and Rev. Bill Walder of Crossroads Evangelical Free Church.

Burial will take place in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, lN.
