Miriam A. Buss 100, of Bremen, Indiana and formerly of North Liberty, Indiana and LaPaz, Indiana passed away on Thursday morning February 1, 2018 at the Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born in Elkhart County to Francis and Mamie Roose Smith on February 14, 1917. She graduated from Tyner High School. She married Orville Buss on May 20, 1939 in Plymouth, Indiana and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1998.

She is survived by one son, Stanley (Connie) Buss of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and four daughters, Rosalee (James) Knecht of Rosemount, Minnesota, Ramona Buss of Flippin, Arkansas, Vonna (John) Walter of Bremen, Indiana and Lucy (Ordway) Allen of South Bend, Indiana. Also surviving are 20 Grandchildren, 44 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orville, one son Jon in July 2017, one Granddaughter, three brothers, and one sister.

She was a loving mother, and she was always involved in the Church of the Brethren and was known as the “Bible Study Queen”. She and her husband were very active in Prison Ministries for many years. She lived her life in service of others and the Lord.

Visitation for Miriam will be held on Saturday February 24 th, 2018 from 2:00-to-4:00 P.M.at the Bremen Church of the Brethren, Bremen, Indiana with funeral services to follow at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Evan Garber officiating also at the Bremen Church of the Brethren with a time of fellowship after the services.

A memorial is being established for youth and children at the Bremen Church of the Brethren.

Inurnment will take place at the Fair Cemetery located in rural North Liberty, Indiana.
