Nancy Anne McCallen, 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at home.
Nancy was born on October 1, 1956, in Plymouth, Indiana to Louise (Martin) and Jack Morcombe. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1975.
While stationed on the U.S.S. Suribachi (AE-21) with the U.S. Navy as a 3rd class boiler technician, Nancy met Damage Controlman 1st Class Brian K. McCallen in 1989. When they made it back to land, they would wed on September 26, 1990, at the Naval Weapons Station Earle naval base in New Jersey. To this union would come two sons, Jake and Lucas.
After her honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1990, the family would eventually make Plymouth, Indiana their home. She was a partner with Brian in operating Light Sport Repair Services. Nancy also most recently worked for Southwire in Bremen in shipping logistics.
Nancy was simple, loving and had a great smile. She was a Momma Bear mother, a loving grandmother and whole-heartedly supported her family. She knew how to turn a bad situation into good and never dwelt on the past or mistakes made. Nancy taught patience, to not let the past hold your back from anything, and to have a strong faith in Christ.
Nancy was a member of Crossroads Church and the American Legion Post #27 in Plymouth. In her early years, she started an at-home bible study with Nancy Davis. She was proud of this group and being able to share her faith with others in the community.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Brian, and their two sons: Jake (Shelly Nieter) McCallen of Plymouth and his daughter Karmynn McCallen, and Lucas (Jaci) McCallen of Rochester and their children Graece, Lucas Jr. “L.J.” and Keagen; siblings: Jeff (Charlene) Morcombe, Marti Lanese and sister-in-law Robin Morcombe; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kris.
A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Church 1650 N. Oak Drive, Plymouth, with Pastor Scott Yoder Officiating. Friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at 11.
Military Honors will be provided immediately following the service by members of the American Legion Post 27, Veterans of Foreign War- Marshall County Post 1162 and Disabled American Veteran Chapter 42.
Memorial contributions can be made to GIST Cancer Research Fund. www.gistinfo.org or mail to GIST Cancer Research Fund, 3905 N.E. 167th Street, North Miami Beach, Florida 33160.

Nancy…We will so dearly miss you, we were distant in miles, but never in heart. I knew
you since you were about 3 yrs. old. We are SO happy we were able to be with you
just before you passed. I guess it was time for you to be with Kris and your Mom and
Dad. I know you were ready, your faith showed that. You are heavy on our minds now,
I have been praying for you for awhile, for you to have relief, peace.
We love you
