Norma L. Heeter

December 3, 1926 — April 9, 2019

Norma Lorraine Heeter, 92, formerly of Austin, TX, passed away in hospice care in Bourbon, IN, on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, surrounded by her loving grandchildren. Norma was born in Dallas TX. To Norman Porter and Edith Viola (Harris) Brown. Norma was a hard working educated woman who became a social worker for the State of Texas family services division in Austin, TX. Norma enjoyed painting and knitting and helping compose Orchestra music. She was very involved in her community, always organizing things with her neighbor. Norma was very involved with her grandchildren’s lives, sending them to finishing schools and supporting every event they were involved in. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments. Norma also took pride in her lifetime ownership of dogs. Those left to mourn her passing are her son Bill and his wife Kris Heeter of Tomball, TX; Her grandchildren Lee and his husband William Francis Register of New York, NY, Shannon and her husband Shane Richardson of Katy, TX, Brandon Heeter of Houston, TX, Andrew Heeter and his wife Leah of New Braunfels , TX, Emily Southern and her partner Terri McGregor of Vernon, MI, and Amanda and her husband Jon Rightsell of Plymouth, IN; several great-grandchildren and many other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sons Donald Heeter in June 2002 and Ronald Heeter in March 2019. Services will be held in Texas at a later date, the website will be updated as information is available.
