Olive Grace Alderfer

March 12, 1912 - November 6, 1999
In Memorial

Olive Grace Alderfer, 87, a lifetime Plymouth resident, died of natural causes at 7:50 a.m., on Saturday, November 6, 1999, in St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.  Olive had lived at 315 W. Garro St., Plymouth, since 1988.

She was born in Plymouth on March 12, 1912, the daughter of George B. and Sarah E. Vareis Bolinger.  She was educated in Plymouth schools.

On March 9, 1932, Olive and Jennings “Jeff” B. Alderfer were married in Plymouth.  Jeff died on December 30, 1987.

Olive worked as a cashier in Dolan’s Market and in Schultz Brothers and Murphy’s Dime Stores.

One of her favorite things was simply time spent at home.  She was a current member of the Eagles Lodge in Plymouth.

Olive was a member of the Roman Catholic faith.

She is survived by a daughter, Georgianna M. Kanouse, Rochester, Ind.  Four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren survive as well, together with one brother, Herbert Bolinger, Sr., of Plymouth.

Olive was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sons: Franklin, Forest and Larry Alderfer and Stella Young, a sister.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral services for Olive will be on Monday, November 8, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. in the New Oakhill Cemetery Chapel, Plymouth.  Father Anthony Gillespie, pastor of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Preferred memorial gifts in Olive’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

The Johnson – Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth was in charge of arrangements.
