Plymouth

Owen E. Rowe, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. Born in North Liberty on April 22, 1932, Owen was the son of Harry and Erma (Cole) Rowe.

Graduating from Bremen High School, Owen honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Owen married Betty Lou McGowen on May 6, 1952 in Bremen. They spent the first few years of their marriage living in South Bend until they relocated to Lakeville in 1955. In 2004, Owen and Betty moved to Plymouth. For several years, they traveled to Arizona each winter where they loved being snowbirds in the warmth of the Arizona sun.

Owen held a longtime career of 38 years as a truck driver with Simon Brothers, retiring in 1994. He was proud to volunteer his time helping set up for the Blueberry Festival each year. On a warm summer day, Owen enjoyed playing a round of golf with his brother, Paul. They regularly golfed on a men’s league at Woodbury and Tri-Way Golf Courses.

Those who knew Owen knew that he had an easy-going nature. He didn’t know a stranger and enjoyed getting to know others.

Surviving are his children, Gary (Vicki) Rowe of Fishers, IN, Larry (Beverly) Rowe of Plymouth, IN, Tonya (Thomas) McKee of New Carlisle, IN and Thomas (Shar) Rowe of Lolo, MT; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; along with siblings, Mary Read and Wanda Colavitti.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Erma; beloved wife, Betty; along with siblings, Helen Parker, Virginia Hepler, Harold Rowe, Junior Rowe, Betty Stump and Paul Rowe.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home in late Spring of 2026.
