Patricia A. Scarberry

December 10, 1931 - August 8, 2004

Patricia A. “Pat” Scarberry, 72, died, following a prolonged illness, at her home, 233 E. Lake Ave., Plymouth, at 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2004. Pat had lived in Plymouth for 49 years, moving here in 1955, from Ashland, Ohio.
The daughter of Carl and Catherine Morgan Chambers, Pat was born in Urbana, Ohio, on December 10, 1931. she attended Urbana schools.
On January 5, 1947, in Urbana, she married M. Dale Scarberry. Dale died on April 26, 2003.
Pat was the founder and operator of the Plymouth Telephone Answering Service. She then worked for the Plymouth Pilot News, the Little Red Shoe House and then retired as a sales associate from J.C. Penny.
She enjoyed crocheting, also reading and writing short stories and poetry. She liked to sing, travel and visit her family.
A member of the First United Church of Christ since 1959, Pat was a Sunday School teacher, a Cub Scout Den mother and an officer in the Webster School P.T.A.
She is survived by three daughters and four sons.
Her twin daughters and their husbands are, Di-Ann and Glen Houin and Dee-Ann and Mike Schroeder; and daughter, Amy and Lawrence Harner, all of Plymouth.
Her sons and spouses are Daniel and Sandy Scarberry, Henderson, Nevada; Geoff and Cheryl Scarberry and Rob Scarberry, all of Plymouth and Tim and Michelle Scarberry, Fort Wayne, Ind.
A son-in-law, John P. Massey, Evansville, Ind., also survives.
Thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Linda Chambers, Urbana, Ohio, and a sister-in-law, Janet Chambers, Bellefontaine, Ohio, survive as well.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse. A daughter, Susan Carol Massey has also died as has a grandchild, Zachary Houin and a brother, Carl Chambers. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2004, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth and one hour prior to services in the church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, in the First United Church of Christ, 321 N. Center St., Plymouth. The Rev. John Gantt pastor of the church, will officiate.
Interment will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorials may be directed to the Marshall County Hospice, to the First United Church of Christ or to the Diabetes Association.
