Patricia S. Hicks

March 17, 1925 - October 17, 2009
In Memorial

Patricia Stephens Hicks, 84, a South Bend resident passed away at 8:55 a.m. Saturday in the Milton Home, South Bend where she has made her home since May of this year. She has resided in South Bend with her daughter for the past five years and an additional twenty years living in Brownstown, Michigan with then companion James Huntley.
Patricia was born in Gaylord, Michigan on March 17, 1925 the daughter of Bruce and E. Louietta (French) Rose.
On June 15, 1945 she married Paul E. Hicks in Reno, Nevada, he would precede her in death on December 11, 1985.
She had worked in production with BPC Manufacturing and later Hehr International both of Plymouth. After retiring she enjoyed embroidery, having made many gifts for family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was riding the electric shopping carts at Wal-Mart with her son-in-law Tom.
Surviving are two children; Rosemary and Tom Berndt of South Bend and Eddie D. Hicks of Toledo, Ohio and three granddaughters; Candy Langton, Brandy Sauer and Marie Hicks. Eight great grandchildren include; Kyle, Kailee, Taylor, Brianna, Allison, Ryan, Brandon and Seana.
Patricia was preceded in death by her spouse and one son Paul Hicks Jr.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 19, 2009 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will follow at 3 p.m. with Lawrence Simon presiding. Burial will follow in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Milton Home for the wonderful care received c/o 206 E. Marion Street, South Bend, Indiana 46601 or Southern Care Hospice.
