Paul Richard Barcus, Sr.

December 18, 1954 - July 27, 2000
In Memorial

Lifetime Marshall County resident, Paul Richard “Pete” Barcus, Sr., 12172 Rose Rd., Plymouth,  died, after an extended illness, at 11:48 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2000, in St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Indiana.  He was 45 years old.

 He will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends and fellow employees of Aker Plastics.

Pete was born on December 18, 1954, in Plymouth, the son of Charles “Hugh” and Evalena Howard Barcus.  He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1974.

 On November 1, 1980, in Starke County, Pete and Elaine C. Jesuit were married.

 He was employed in the maintenance department of Aker Plastics for eight years and worked until his illness forced him to retire.

He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking and repairing small engines.  He had a large family and many friends and enjoyed being with them and humoring them in an affectionate manner.

Pete is survived by his wife and two sons: Paul R. Barcus, Jr., a member of the United States Navy, stationed at Great Lakes, Ill., and Matthew Barcus, at home.  His mother Evalena also resides in Plymouth.

 Three brothers and seven sisters also survive his death.  The brothers are: C. Edward and Lenda Barcus, Plymouth: Robert and Darlene Barcus, Argos: James and Maryanne Barcus, Algonquin, Ill. 

His sisters, all of Plymouth, are: Laura and Harold Stiles, Ruth and Jack Shorter, Sharon and Dale Kamp, Jean and Robert Rees, Sandy and Don Davenport, Linda and Phil Keller, Nancy and Steve Johnson.

Many nieces and nephews will miss him greatly.

His father and a sister Betty Lawson preceded him in death

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, July 29, 2000, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake United Methodist Church, will be at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 30, 2000, in the funeral home.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
