Raymond (Pete) Stetler

November 9, 1942 - December 2, 2002

Raymond Leroy Stetler, 60, of 1008 Jackson Heights, Plymouth, died of natural causes, at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2002, in St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Pete was born in Inwood, Ind., on November 9, 1942, the son of Raymond and Madeline (Lindsey) Stetler. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Plymouth, Indiana. On January 25, 1986, Pete and Mona Dipert were married in the Inwood United Methodist Church. He worked in production for Hoosier Tires for 22 years. A NASCAR fan, he worked on race cars in his younger days. He enjoyed being with his family. Pete is survived by his wife and by four step-daughters and a step-son. His daughters are Deana (Mark) Shields, Pope, Miss.; Amy (Stephen) Strickland, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Laurie (Billy) Landaw, South Bend, Ind.; and Jennifer Marie Gaines, Plymouth. His step-son is Joey Gaines, also of Plymouth. A step-brother, Jeff Stetle, Plymouth and a 2 step-sister Sue Sullivan, Linda Kern both of Inwood survive as well, together with 10 grandchildren. Pete was preceded in death by his parents and Ambrose Jacobson, his step-father. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services for Pete will be in the funeral home on Thursday, December 5, 2002, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Dean Snyder, pastor of the Community Church of God, Lapaz, Indiana will officiate. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial gifts in Pete’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Cancer Society.
